Attendance Policy

Attendance Policy for Notre Dame & St. Joseph Students

Every student has the right to the educational opportunities that will enable the student to develop to their fullest potential. To maximize these opportunities, it is the responsibility of the student to be in attendance daily. St. Gabriel Learning Centre is committed to the philosophy that every student should attend every class every day. Regular attendance and promptness are expected in all classes and are essential for student success in school.

This is as true for online courses as it is for a traditional school.

In collaboration with École Secondaire Notre Dame High School and St. Joseph High School, we have created a new program that will help students complete their online courses in a more timely manner and with greater success.

Each school now has a "St. Gabriel Learning Centre" space dedicated for our students to work on their course and get support from St. Gabriel Teaching Staff.

What this means for students...

If you are a student from École Secondaire Notre Dame High School or St. Joseph High School, you will see a block on your timetable for a St. Gabriel course. During this block, you will attend our dedicated space and work on your course.

Attendance is mandatory for these blocks and attendance will be taken. However, unlike a traditional school block, once you have completed the course, and your final grade has been submitted, attendance during this block will no longer be required.

If you have any questions about this new policy, please contact St. Gabriel Learning Centre to talk to your school administrator.
